Energy vampires

They come in quiet.
Not loud, not obvious — just normal enough to slide through your space.
At first it feels light.
Then you start running low and can’t explain why.
They feed off the current in the room.
It’s not love they want, it’s charge.
They hook in with curiosity, praise, small talk — anything that gets your energy moving toward them.
Once they’ve got it, they coast on it.
When it runs out, they bounce.
They don’t walk away because they’re done with you —
they leave because they’ve topped off.
When their glow fades, they’ll circle back like nothing happened.
It’s not romance. It’s refueling.
You think you miss them, but what you’re really feeling
is the empty space where they were plugged in.
That’s how you know you met an emotional parasite — an energy vampire.
They don’t take your heart — they take your current.
You become their charger.
They drain what they need to feel alive,
then hand you back the shell they left behind.
They mirror your rhythm until they can run off it.
They study your light until it feels like theirs.
They don’t want connection, they want supply —
attention, admiration, access, energy.
When they vanish, it’s not rejection.
It’s digestion.
They’re full for now.
And when they start starving again,
they’ll circle back like it’s fate.
They dont crave connection. They crave contact, because contact means current. They don’t want love. They want access — to your inspiration, your network, your fire.
Watch out for them.
