PART 4: The Flame They Run Back to
And why this time, you don’t sacrifice your growth to let them in
BECOMING NINA
Becoming Nina: Why They Always Come Back
People leave when it gets uncomfortable.
When you stop making it easy.
When they start to feel what it costs to stay the same around someone who’s growing.
And then—when you finally go quiet,
when your energy is no longer theirs to reach for—
they come back.
Not always with clarity.
Not always with change.
But almost always with timing that makes you question your own progress.
They miss the version of you who overextended.
The version of you who softened your truth just to keep the peace.
The version of you who made love feel easy—even when it wasn’t.
But here’s what you need to remember:
They don’t always come back because they’re ready.
They come back because you finally are.
Growth demands that you stop rescuing people from the discomfort of their own choices.
That you stop sacrificing your evolution
just to make someone else feel safe in your presence.
You don’t grow by running in circles.
You grow by walking away when it’s time—
and not turning around just because someone decided to catch up late.
They may change.
They may evolve.
They may even mean it this time.
But that’s not your responsibility to hold.
They need to show up.
Fully. Presently. Repeatedly.
Because this whole thing?
It’s not about who comes back.
It’s about who actually shows up for you—now.
And even more than that:
it’s about you showing up for yourself, especially when no one else does.
It’s
So if you’re being tested—
if someone’s come back just as you’re starting to feel grounded again—
ask yourself:
Are they here to grow with me,
or just to keep me from growing without them?
Because you didn’t come this far
just to hand your healing to someone
who didn’t value it the first time.
Let them come back.
Let them show you.
But don’t let them in
unless who they are now
fully honors who you’ve fought to become.
Love,
Nina
